Disclaimer:
I take no warranty of any kind that this product is free
of errors or of any use for you at all.
I take no responsibility for any damage which this program
may cause on your computer.
And, I take no warranty for my english:-)
This program has to be distributed as freeware.
This program should help you to determine whether a program
is a hack or not, but there a lot more feature than only this.
First, the parameter you will likely use most:
VT.EXE C FILESPEC
This ends in an attempt to identify the files speciefied
by filespec.
If a file is reported as unknow, it is not known to the database.
The reason for this may be a hacked program or a not supported
package. Be careful if you encounter this with a file which belongs
to a know package!
---------
Other parameters:
VT.EXE L lists the supported packages.
You will need this one if you want to know the number of a package.
VT.EXE T FILE prints the TEST-codes for the file.
This is like validate from McAfee, but better.
Wildcards are allowed, of course.
Or: VT.EXE V checks if the database has been modified.
Or: VT.EXE E Package-Nr.
Lists the TEST-codes of the files belonging to package-nr.
Or: VT.EXE S
Will show you some interesting information about the database.
Or: VT.EXE D Drive (NEWNEWNEW)
Will produces the TEST-codes for the disk!
An advanced option is to add an "t" to the "c" when checking
a file. This "t" stands for triggerlevel which is reduced
by it. If you use this one, all files with at least one info
in common with an database entry will be listed.
Example: VT ct *.*
Be careful, it produces tons of false alarms.
--------
Well, I know, this is not a complete manual.
But it should be sufficient to use the program.
By the way,
Progamwritters, who want there programs supported by this database,
a encouraged to send them to me.
They will be added to the database as soon as possible.
I will do that free of charge, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't like
to get a free registered copy:-) (just an idea:-)
I repeat, I am sorry for my english, and please, if you find any errors
in this file or any bugs in the program, please send an email to me!
